I was able to take Malynda with us to the Boston Temple trip with the Young Men and Young Women. We went with a neighboring branch. The girls were a little bit tired afterwards.

Lawrence and Malynda were in Alice in Wonderland Jr. Malynda was the catapillar/butterfly, kid in the park and Lawrence was a kid in the park, lobster, and royal cardsman. Everyone did a great job.

Blake's Baptism

Blake was baptized today on his birthday!! Keith did the baptism and My father-in-law did the confirmation. He got his new suit for his birthday gift with a new white shirt and shoes. He told me when I laid it out for him, "Mom I'm going to look like the men now!!"

All of his NY Grandparents except for 1 came out for his baptism. Malynda played the guitar and both me and my mother-in-law spoke.

Blake was able to perform in the school talent show 1 week after his surgery. He was the lead in "Where the wild things are". Malynda took 2nd place at the Talent show singing "Naturally" by Selena Gomez. In the dance part she was a scary spider.

It has been a long time since I posted anything but here is our fun March. Blake ended up going to the hospital and having his appendix removed. The day after we got home Malynda ended up in the e.r. with a major neck strain and had to wear a brace this week. What fun we have had. Here are some pictures of Blake. Malynda participated in her Guitar Teacher's church Christmas program. Most of her Westport family made it. She did very well. She forgot to smile but concentrated very hard. Nan (Ann) called us up to make sure she wore something to make her stand out. Sheila got all the kids these Christmas dresses and I think it did the job.

This is a really late update but here you go. THe kids started school on Sept 9. Ella started on Sept. 8. Blake is in the 2nd grade and was the most excited. Malynda is in 4th and is excited to see her friends. Ella started Preschool. She was going to a seperate school than the one that I teach at but starting Monday she is going to be at my school. All the grandparents put them on the bus for us becuase both Keith and I had to work. My mother-in-law took these pictures for me.

I went on a field trip with Blake for his birthday. Malynda's concert was that night so he got to celebrate with all of his friends at the Wild Center. He had a great time. I went with his group and we ran into Malynda a few times. Happy 7th Birthday buddy bear. You are a great guy!!

My in-laws are the branch activity chair people and they combined a branch activity with our primary talent show. It was a lot of fun.

Malynda sang This is Me from Demi Lavoto. She took 3rd place overall. She won the Jr. Competition as well. We are very proud of you Malynda!! She is going to be in the Essex County Fair in August.

The Talent Show

When they first started announceing the winners we were getting nervous. Keith knew after they announced the 2nd place winner that malynda was going to win. I had no clue. When they announced her name everyone cheered!! She had the biggest eyes you have ever seen and we don't think her feet touched the ground for a few hours. She congratulated everyone else and got a lot of hugs for her to. We are so proud of her accomplishment. Keith won when he was in 1st or 2nd grade. He said that he was more happy for her.

Malynda was getting really into the song.

Malynda hurried off the stage and went right over to the bathroom and her grammy helped her change into her costume and did her make up. She was a little nervous at first and then took off. She had the whole crowd going it was really neat. Keith played the guitar for her and that gave her the edge.

The school had its Talent Show on Saturday May 16. Malynda first had her dance portion. The kids made a small mistake but did a really good job.

I helped make the skirts for the costumes.

The girls were 16th century dancers. The blonde boy was Samuel D'Champlain, and the other boy was a Mowhawk Indian.

Malynda came down from her shower on Tuesday night and asked me if she did a good job with her face. I looked at her and said that her hair looked really clean and her face was nice and clean to. She looked at me and said what about my eyes? I looked and couldn't talk for a second. She shaved off 1/2 of her eyebrows on each side. I asked her why she did it and she said that she thought her eyebrows were to shaggy. No kids, as far as she told me, told her that she just thought it. I told her that she made them match for the most part. I told her that I was glad she didn't cut her hair. I cut blake's hair when he was about 1 year old and did an absolutly horrible job. At least her's looked better.

I had one of the most fun Mother's Day. The kids made some really creative mother's day cards and wanted to make breakfast but we didn't have the stuff so they gave me a poptart instead. Malynda gave a wonderful talk during sacrament meeting and the kids sang Love one Another with sign language. We had two wonderful meals afterwards. Here are some pics.

I took the kids up to Nan's house to teach Malynda how to ride her bike. We were going to do it last year but since she broke her arm, she did not get the chance. I only had to push her twice and she did everything else by herself. She pretty much taught herself how to ride her bike. Now Blake wants to try his bike w/o training wheels.

Sledding what a blast but.......Ouch

Day of Accident We went to a winter festival with Keith where he works. THe whole day was fun with horse carriage rides, snow mobile rides, and pie/hot dog eating contests which my kids one. The last thing was sledding. We had a few really good runs. Then on the last one I helped Ella climb up the hill and she slipped. I helped her up and then I heard "Watch out Mom!!" I had no time except to let go of Ella. Keith said that he saw my feet fly where my head should've been. I hit face first on the ice covered snow. Blake was scared but I assured him I was ok. I asked him if I lost any teeth and he said I did but then he saw it behind the blood. There were a lot of EMT's around and they checked me out.

Keith said that I looked like Freddy Crougar put on my makeup andI tried to get my lips to look like Angelina Jolie. Don't I look Beautiful?

Mother & Son !! 2009

We had our first annual Mother & Son's activity at church. It was a lot of fun. We had a wonderful dinner made my by Mother-In-Law and Sister DeGroff, my 2nd counselor. Before dinner started Sister DeGroff madeup some wonderful games.

We listened to High School Musical 3, Jonus Brothers, and Taylor Swift. My mother-in-law made crosages for all the mom's.

For some reason I can't post pictures right now but I will do the slide shows until then. Our trip was awesome except the flight out and not seeing everybody I wanted to. On our flight out our connection from CHicago O'Hare to SLC was cancelled so they rerouted us through Denver then onto SLC. They told us that all of the Travelocity flights were cancelled on that flight.

We missed our connection at O'Hare by 5 minutes because of technical problems on the plane. They rebooked us twice. THe first one was cancelled then the other, with stand by tickets, we were let on. Ella fell asleep on my lap and we were all set to go with the doors closing. Then we heard over the intercom "The Lobdell family must get off now". We didn't know what was going on. We asked what the problem was and they wouldn't give us an answer. The guy said again, "The Lobdell family must get off now!!" My kids started getting scared and crying. They barely gave us enough time to grab our paks. Now I don't get upset at people all that often or let my emotion show but when they did that I lost most of my control. My husband was visibly upset and I demanded to know why we were kicked off teh plane. The lady that let us on told us that the party she gave us the seats for showed up at the last minute and then left!!! Keith went to talk to the supervisor who was in the next booth over. He was able to get us actual tickets and not standby's for the next flight. I got on the phone and started yelling at the travelocity agent. Malynda told me after, "Mom I never saw you like that before!" Her eyes were really big. Don't worry I didn't swear but came really really close. I wanted a refund on my tickets becuase of my children being scared and crying, for being humliated and being kicked off the plane. They couldn't or wouldn't give me a discount bc they were only a travel agency and not responsible for the actions of the airlines. I told them bull crap. I demanded something to be done so they gave me 2 free nights at any hotel.

Well Long story almost short, we made it into slc at 7:00 pm (6 1/2 hours late!!!) and Jamie and Kenz met us at the airport while we got our rental car. Jamie let us borrow her carseat. We went to her house and had dinner and saw most everyone. It was worth making the trip but no more O'hare airport and no more travelocity.

The kids ended up with about 10 Webkins between all of them, new clothes, and a lot of cool toys from santa. Their grandparents chipped in and bought them a Wii for Christmas. That has been a lot of fun and used at the other family parties as well.

Christmas Memories

Some of my earliest memories of Christmas was Christmas Eve when I was about 7 years old. My Grandpa and Grandma Gray would always come over as well as our siblings. My dad would make a delicious dinner and my mom would have us clean the house before everyone got there. We always drew names to see who would get gifts. My Grandparents would let us open their gifts on Christmas eve as well. This year my grandparents gave each of us a new Sleeping Bag. Of course I yelled out Let's have a sleep over together. Everyone said yes except for my parents. My dad and brother's read the christmas story from the bible and we played games and sang songs. It was so nice and relaxing.
That night, all of us kids slept in the rooms at least we pretended to sleep. Early Christmas morning my siblings always made me go upstairs and wake up our parents. Santa never wrapped our gifts. There were always piles designated for each of us. My parents would send me back down and what seemed like an eternity (probably 30 minutes) they would give us some sort of call or sign to tell us to come up. It was so amazing to see everything. There were christmas's where we didn't have a lot but it didn't matter. Being with my family is what mattered the most.
When Keith and I got married, we spent our first Christmas at my house. He never had Christmas with such a huge group of people and he didn't know what to expect. My siblings made him feel right at home. I told him about not wrapping gifts and he thought that was different. We helped Santa Clause get the piles ready and he had a ball.
I love Christmas!! I love this time of year. Shopping is fun but the best time is when you are able to help somebody or see the faces of the kids lighten up. We have stressed to our kids the importance of giving at Christmas. I am glad to know that they are doing this and love the chance of helping Santa Clause out with a family in need this year.

I am so excited for Christmas this year. We have been stressing to our kids for as long as I can remember about what Christmas is about. For the most part they understand that Christmas is about Christ. THey know that Christmas is for giving gifts and not receiving them even though getting them is fun to.
This year we are getting the chance to help out a family who needs some help. They are also investigating the church as well. When we found out what has happend to this family, we found our chance to help them.
My kids have gotten into the spirit of the season and have been going through their books and toys and clothes and bringing them out to me. Malynda wants to give just about all of her old stuff to them.
I love Christmas and I am glad for this chance to help out a family who needs some extra help.

The kids had excellent report cards so as a reward we took them to the pizza put. They had a ball. I got some really good deals on Halloween costumes after the holiday was done. Ella loves the hannah Montana hair as well as a few other people. Blake is Bumble Bee and Malynda is Hannah Montana.

The kids went right after school to meet up with some of their friends. Pretty soon we had a group of 10 kids and 7 adults. It was a lot of fun. The kids came home with a pretty heavy load. I didn't realize Blake's shirt was on backwards until the end but he didn't care. He fixed it before seeing the grandparents.

A Gentle Giant!!

We just had our stake conferance and it was such an amazing experience. Keith's grandparents watched the kids so we could go and enjoy the meeting. It was a special meeting becuase Elder L. Tom Perry and Elder Jose A. Teixeira (I belive of the 70) were the featured speakers!!! When we got to the church, we went through a small side door and both men were walking into a room right next to it. They saw us coming in and opend the door for us, shook our hands, and welcomed us. I was so amazed, thrilled and excited at the same time. I took out my cell phone and took his picture when he first opend the door. I told him that he was my favorite apostle and could I ge a picture with him? He smiled ad said sure. When he asked Keith if he wanted to be in it I was already pulling him over. He laughed and said sure. The missionaries took our picture with him. Luckily Spencer can email me the picture back to me so I can print it off. I never knew how tall he was. He is about 6'6" tall. He reminds so much of my Grandpa Gray. He has such a great sense of humor.
His memory is really good to. He knew who he talked to before and after the meeting. Before the meeting when I told him that he was my favorite apostle, he said that he hoped he wouldn't disapoint. After the meeting he was walking down the hallway and he came over to us!!! He asked us how it was and Keith said that he sure wasn't disapointed with it at all!!
His talk was so neat. He talked about having a purpose in life. He said to make sure that you go after what you want to but make sure it is one to better your life and it is making holy decisions. I have been thinking a lot about school and he answered a lto of my questions. Elder Teixeira gave a wonderful talk about keeping God and Christ as your own personal GPS system. He talked about moving to Utah and getting very confused becuase he couldn't follow any of the directions there. He was hillarious. He also talkd a lot about missionary work. Both men did a wonderful job. My testimony grew _______ this much. I know that they are called of God. I know that Elder Perry is a true apostle. I know that my prayers were answered.

We had our first Daddy Daughter Date in a very long time. Malynda helped me prepare. She went to my mother-in-laws house and helped her cook. SHe got her done so nice and wore her dress my mom made for her for her baptizm. We had a great dinner and a fun dance. Our DJ was a member from our branch and the waitress is his fiance. My mother-in-law also made crosages for the girls. PLease check out the slideshow as well.

Our next door neighbor grew small mini pumpkns and invited the kids to come over and pick them. Blake lost his first tooth and asked if me if I could ask the tooth fairy if he could keep his tooth. Ella is hanging out with her friends from church and the library school.

As the primary president and member of a small branch, I have had my testimony grow in the church. Two years ago we had 6 kids in the primary. Four of them were active (Blake and Malynda, and my friends two kids). We had 2 families move in and a few baptizms and we have the potential of 24 kids. We have grandparents bringing their nonmember granchildren (4 kids), and some of the kids have 1 parent who is a member so they came every other week. Please keep our primary and our branch in your prayers for the missionaries who are teaching 5 primary children.

One of my counselors in our branch planned a really fun activity. She had the kids come and do the things that the missionaries do. We invited another branch along with ours. We had a really good turnout and everyone had fun.

End of Summer Party !!

I babysat a total of 11 kids during the summer and since school started THursday, we had a end of summer party on Wednesday. Our good friends came and brought the water slide. Everyone contributed with food. It was fun. We had 17 kids and 3 adults. Thanks Madills and Nicholls for coming and helping out!!!

This is a little bit late, but hey that's o.k. I guess. Keith and I just celebrated our 10th anniversary. We met at UVSC Aug of 1998. We met again in Sept. My friend Allison had to convince me to go out with him becuase I was a little nervous. THanks Allison. We got engaged Oct. 23, 1998 after the BYU homecoming dance. We got married on Aug. 8, 1998 at the Provo Temple. His mother and step father are the only members of the church in his family but his dad and fiance came out for the wedding and helped with all the kiddos. My Uncle Paul and Aunt Bobbie, my mom, my brother spencer and his wife, Keith's mom, the sister missionary that taught them the discussions and her father were in the temple with us. My sister's gave me a really fun last night. We went to a movie and out to a very late dinner. I stayed over at my sister Laurie's apartment since it was next to the hair dressers. I got really sick and didn't know what I was doing. My mom, an excellent nurse, gave me some medicine and made sure that I ate something. We got to the temple an hour late. My mom told me that Keith was pacing back and forth with my brother trying to comfort him. He asked me were we went and I told him we went out to breakfast (we went back to Laurie's house.) My explained what was going on and Keith and Spencer gave me a wonderful blessing. I didn't get sick again for another couple of months. My mom fixed the skirt on my wedding dress and helped me find matching bridesmaid dresses. My dad fixed a wonderful spread of food at the reception. My siblings helped Keith make our announcements.
Some of our greatest blessings besides getting married for time and eternity are our three children. Malynda Sue came in 2000. She shares her birthday with her Aunt Jamie, as well as other family members. She is going to start 3rd grade this year. Lawrence Blake came in 2002. He shares his birthday with an older cousin on his dad's side. THey are named after the same man Keeton Blake, Blake's great- grandfather. He is starting 1st grade and just discovered he has his first loose tooth. He said taht is his greatest thing with his body.
Ella Marie came in 2006. She was our biggest, quickest, and funny baby. She tries very hard to keep up with her big brother and sister. She now weighs 35 lbs and is 38" long.
I am so greatful for my husband. He is a wonderful husband and father. I couldn't ask for more. When they say you try and find someone who is like your father, it is true.
I love you Keith!!

When I am feeling home sick or bored. I know that I can talk to my family. Kenz has a great sense of humor, sick sometimes. SHe can always get you to laugh. STacy just had her 2nd baby. She is a terrific hair stylist. She is very sweet and a hard worker. She is worried about calling me on the east coast because of the different time zones, but any time is fine with me. Chicken and I are very close. She had Malynda to be an honorary flower girl at her wedding even though she was only 18 months old. We went to school together and had a ball most of the time. THere was even a time in Jr. High where I was taller than her. I don't have a picture of Kraig, but he is a very special person. He baptized me and always made it fun visiting him.

Three of my LITTLE SISTERS and older brother (even though they are all taller than me)had their birthdays this week. It has been very hard to be away from them. Stacy's was the 3rd, Kraig the 11th, Kenz the 20th, and Chicken (Brookie) the 28th. I wanted to tell them all how much I love them and appreciate them. And even though they are all taller then me, I can still beat them up. I wish I was out there to celebrate and party with you. But know that I love you very much.

Ella turned 2. In her appointment she weighed in at 35 lbs and 2'10" tall. We had a fun party with all the grandparents. Keith and Blake cooked the dinner.

A Great Visitor

When we took her to the airport, the whole wait was 15 minutes. Plattsburgh has a new airport where she flew out of. I swear she was taller than her plane. Ella was amazed with the airplanes.

We took her to Fort Crown Point. THis was a major fort during the French & Indian wars and the Revolution.

My childhood friend Angie came out to visit us for a few days. We took her all over our region of NY. It was nice catching up and relaxing. Thanks for coming Ang.

Malynda didn't want me to show a picture of her arm until it was out of the cast and bandages. She changed her earrings for the first time wearing the Hannah MOntana earrings Blake gave her for her birthday. SHe has healed so good. Her arm is a little crooked but we are happy she is feeling so good!!

major storm

We had a really bad storm. I took Malynda to a birthday party 20 minutes away and only had rain. Keith called me and told me what had happend. WHen we drove home we were detoured and weren't guarenteed if we were even going to be able to get there. The rain was so heavy you couldn't see 3 feet in front of you. We had 70-80 MPH winds, and the thunder was amazing. He said the only part that was missing was a tornado. Here are some pictures of some of the damage. We were out of power for about 20 hours.

A Little Girls Answered Prayers

We had some terriffic news from Malynda's doctor. Malynda broke her elbow on June 26. She had surgery June 28 with 3 pins. She went in for her 2 week check up on July 11 and the doctor was surprised on how well her arm was healing. He honestly thought that she was going to have to wear a cast for 6-8 weeks. He suprised us and told us that she could have her pins taken out the following Friday as long as she kept her arm safe and did her exercizes.
We took her this past Friday July 18 (3 weeks after the break) and the doctor did another x-ray and said that she was ready to have her pins taken out. Malynda was really worried that it would hurt so both Keith and I stayed with her. I held her and Keith talked to her and when the doctor took out the pins Malynda said that it didn't hurt at all. It was uncomfortable and she had to take a break after the 2nd one came out. She thought she was going to throw up but did very well.
She had to wear a gauze around her elbow (no sling) after she left the doctor and today was her first day with just a bandage. The doctor suprised her and told her as soon as her scabs fall off, she can go SWIMMING!!! She might have a summer after all. When we were leaving the doctor's office she yelled out "I LOVE JESUS CHRIST. THANK YOU JESUS FOR HEALING MY ARM!!!"
Thank you so much for your prayers. I do have a testimony of the priesthood and of prayers. Thanks again. I love you all and miss you very much.
